What kind of paper do you use? Mine is very rough and I can never manage to keep detail in the hair or lips!

Mostly smooth Bristol.. Every so often I will try something else, but I like the Bristol the best

Thanks! I use sketchbook paper. It adds some character, but I think I'd rather use something smoother. I apologize if I forgot to say that your work is great!

Oh, believe me I know! It's what I struggle most with :frustrated: Kudos to you because it turned out really lovely! The highlights are my fave I think. It looks very realistic and soft to me, really lifelike ;)

Thanks! I don't really now how to describe how I d what I do,.. It's kinda like picking a song out on the piano by knowin it sounds right... I keep playing around with a drawing till it "looks right"
My only problem is. Tend to start out too light, then I have to keep shading darker and darker until its good. Takes forever:)

Well you have to do what works for you, and its definitely working! I start out light on purpose, and gradually bring in the darker tones. But I mostly tend to do that so that if I bugger it up somewhere, no one will notice, lol. Keep it up, mate, you definitely have talent!
